Vermiculite mortar is a mixture of Vermiculite and cement. Vermiculite mortar is a lightweight cement mortar with a fire-resistant and insulating effect. Its weight is approximately 20% of the weight of pebble concrete. The mortar has a high insulating capacity. Vermiculite mortar is a durable shrink-free and crack-free mortar.
The Vermiculite grain that is mixed with the cement has grade 0-3mm. Vermiculite is a grain insulation material of mineral origin. Vermiculite is a magnesium-aluminium silicate that has many external and chemical similarities to mica. The exfoliated Vermiculite consists of harmonica-shaped grains that contain millions of air bubbles, which are responsible for Vermiculite’s high insulation value, low weight and other positive properties.

Vermiculite mortar product specifications
For the various areas of application, standard Vermiculite insulation mortars are available in five mortar ratios. Other mixing ratios are available on request. When processing on site, only clean water should be added. After moistening in a counterflow mixer or concrete mixer, Vermiculite insulation mortar should be applied, distributed, smoothed with the steel tool and plastered. An optional top layer can be applied after about 24 hours of hardening.
