Phonisol
Phonisol was developed especially as an insulation layer between a structure element and a sound source. In sound insulation, it is important to place as much mass as possible between a source and the receiver. The more mass is present here, the less noise will be transmitted. The structure that is being insulated is part of the mass, but the insulating effect will improve by making it heavier with flexible material. If this material is too stiff, it will be too easy to make it vibrate. Phonisol is a heavy, flexible synthetic material that is very supple and has a high mass. Depending on your needs, this product is available with or without burlap layer. The properties are given in the chart below:

Applications of Phonisol
The product can be used for air insulation in: floors in utility buildings and houses, yacht building, touring car building, casings of machines, ventilation flues, partition walls. It can also be used as a free-hanging acoustic curtain.
Using Phonisol
Phonisol can be cut with a Stanley knife or sawn with a band saw to any size necessary. Thanks to the flexible properties, the mats can easily be attached to curved surfaces. We recommend gluing the material with contact glue or epoxy glue. Self-adhesive mats are also available on request. With a burlap layer there is a better adhesion when gluing.

Product specifications of Phonisol
Phonisol is a synthetic material that is composed of a polymer filled with barium sulphate. Barium sulphate is a natural mineral. No heavy metals have been used in Phonisol.
