Phonkiller PU2 was developed specifically to reduce vibrations and the sound level that radiates by these vibrations. The combination of the epoxy paste with a counter plate is used worldwide to reduce structural noise. Phonkiller PU2 is an epoxy sound-absorbing compound based on polyurethane (component A: beige paste and component B: dark brown liquid). In accordance with VDI guideline 3727, this paste can be used for sound-absorbing steel and aluminium structures thicker than 3mm. This product also keeps corrosion away and it can be used as glue as well. The remaining properties are given below:

Application of Phonkiller PU2
This product is mostly used in the yacht building, shipbuilding and bodywork building industries, as well as for partitions, walls, ceilings and many other applications.
Using Phonkiller PU2
After components A and B have been weighed in the correct ratio, they should be mixed at a low speed (maximum 250 rpm) for at most 3 minutes into a smooth paste. For the best results, the paste and the counter plate should be applied onto the structure to be insulated in the ratio proportion 4:1:1. This can be done using a glue comb or a spatula. During the hardening of the paste (depending on the ambient conditions: 8-15 hours) the paste may not come into contact with water. Temperatures between 40°C and 80°C will accelerate the hardening. Phonkiller PU2 adheres very well to aluminium and steel. These surfaces must be clean, dry, fat-free and dust-free. If the foundation has been treated with phenolic resin paint, an adhesion test is recommended. During use ventilate well and wear gloves and optical protection. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth or mucous membranes.
